Walkers are always coming up with new and creative reasons to walk! South Bay Striders thought it might be fun (and educational!) to build a program around the historical California Missions. So that's what we did!

Here's how it works. Walk over, under, around or through 15 of the 21 California Missions (on official year round or event walks, of course) and receive a beautiful patch and certificate - along with some great history lessons! Many of the Missions are already included in walks, and plans are underway to create walks around the others. The next page contains a list of current YREs that include Missions.

You will have until May, 2013 to complete your book with at least 15 Missions. As part of the program, you will be the first to receive information on new YRE or Event Walks that include a Mission. Be sure to include your email address with your check or to our emails.

Once you have completed the program, mail your book to us OR sign both 'sides' of the book, photograph or scan both 'sides' and email the JPEG files to ilex56@yahoo.com. By signing both 'sides' we will not get pictures mixed up. You will recieve a nice certificate, a patch to comemorate your achievement and your book back. Make sure that we have a return address and the CORRECT spelling for your name as you want it to appear on the certificate.
