| Sat, May 10th | SPECIAL:National Walking Month Hello hikers! to celebrate National Walking Month, we are meeting up at Los Gatos Coffee Roasting Company,101 W. Main St, Los Gatos on Saturday, May 10th. START: Register 8:30AM to walk by 8:45AM. We are walking the Los Gatos Creek Trail 5K or 7K distance. | Wed, May 14th | Sunset Striding Let's enjoy walking a 5K route on the beautiful Santa Clara University Campus together this afternoon. Sign in: 4:45PM, walk by 5:00PM Directions to start at the intersection of Chapman Ave and the Alameda: From I-880 north or southbound, take The Alameda Ave exit NORTH. Go 1/3 mile to the the second or third light. The Alameda becomes Highway 82 and will curve right at the traffic light. See the "Santa Clara University" sign on the low wall. Turn LEFT at the light to stay on The Alameda. There is a 4 hour parking limit on The Alameda or use the street's island with 2-hour limit. Contact person: Suzi Glass 408-592-3935 |
| Wed, May 21st | Sunset Striding Walking Coyote Creek Trail to Hellyer Park is on our agenda today. Join us at Shady Oaks Park, 948 Coyote Road at the stop sign at Coyote Road and Broderick. We will walk to Hellyer Park and return. Sign up: 4:45PM Walk at 5:00PM Driving Directions to Shady Oaks Park: From Hwy 17, North or South, merge onto CA-85 South. Take exit 4 onto Blossom Hill Road, turn left on Blossom Hill. In 2.7 miles, turn left onto Coyote Rd. In 0.5 miles, the park is on your right. Park on Coyote Road (watch for time limits) or intersecting streets. The start is the "T" intersection of Broderick and Coyote Rd at the Stop sign. Contact: Suzi Glass 408-592-3935 |
| Wed, May 28th | Sunset Striding Today we are walking Loop #1 of our Hills of Evergreen year round trail. Meet at Fowler Creek park on Altia Ave. There is a lot with free parking or you may park on the park side of the street. This loop sends you by ponds and up the Montgomery Hill Trail to overlooks for Evergreen college and East San Jose. Meet at 4:45PM to walk at 5:00PM Driving directions: Fowler Creek Park, San Jose, in the Evergreen District. North or South Hwy 101; take exit 382, East Capitol Expressway towards the hills. After 1.1 miles, turn Right onto Aborn Rd. Go 3.4 miles, turn Right on Mosher Dr (traffic light).
